ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Administrative Assistant is responsible to the Pastor/Administration Team and will
take directions from the Pastor. The Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for
providing organizational, clerical, and communication support to the Pastor and church
leadership to ensure the efficient operation of the church office.
MINISTRY DESCRIPTION:
1. Office Operations: Manage the church office during designated hours, including
answering phones, handling mail, and maintaining the church calendar.
2. Communications: Prepare and distribute the weekly newsletter and other church-
wide emails. Update social media and website (basic information) as directed by the
Pastor.
3. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate church membership records and visitor
information; keep databases updated with close attention to detail. File and organize
paperwork (both physical and digital).
4. Ministry Support: Provide administrative support for staff and ministry teams, such as
printing, event registration, attendance assistance, maintaining background checks,
and ensuring that trainings are up to date, etc.
5. Supplies: Monitor and order office supplies and Bible study material, working with
ministry leaders to ensure that the church office and all classrooms are well stocked.
6. Hospitality: Act as the first point of contact for visitors to the church office,
representing Liberty Baptist Church with a pleasant and helpful demeanor.
7. Assisting: Organize and maintain the child check-in station and aid in enlisting helpers
to staff stations on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.
8. Participation: Participate in church life and ministry as a faithful church member.
9. Compliance: Adhere to the Covenant, Constitution, Bylaws, and policies of Liberty
Baptist Church.
10. Excellence: Carry out with excellence all other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and comfortable
learning church management software (Planning Center). Willingness to learn other
ministry tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, etc.
2. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to proofread
for grammar and clarity.3. Organization: Exceptionally well-organized with the ability to multitask and meet
deadlines.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be a Christian and Southern Baptist (in agreement with the Baptist Faith &
Message 2000).
2. Must model a lifestyle consistent with the biblical values of Liberty Baptist Church.
3. Must dress professionally and maintain a pleasant, welcoming personality.
4. Must be a self-starter who is teachable and works well within a team.
5. Must be able to keep strict confidences regarding sensitive member information and
counseling matters.
6. Must become and remain a member of Liberty Baptist Church during employment.
PERSONNEL MATTERS:
All paid staff positions of Liberty Baptist Church are under the general supervision of the
Administration Team and the direct supervision of the Pastor.
JOB PERFORMANCE:
The first six (6) months of employment will serve as the Administrative Assistant's
probationary period. The Pastor and Administration Team will evaluate the Administrative
Assistant at least once annually.
HOURS & COMPENSATION:
The Administrative Assistant will be a salaried position, paid twice a month based on a
time commitment of 15 hours per week.
RESIGNATION & TERMINATION:
• Resignation: A written resignation should be given to the Pastor/Administration Team.
Two (2) weeks’ notice is preferred.
• Termination: Immediate termination may be exercised for unethical/immoral conduct,
failure to keep confidences (gossiping), insubordination, or repeated failure to fulfill
responsibilities.
